Jürgen Schöllmann (Guitar)

Born: 1951 - Köln, Germany

The German guitarist, Jürgen Schöllmann, began his guitar studies at age 16. He studied with Tadashi Sasaki in Köln, Miguel Rubio in Bern, and Konrad Ragossnig in Basel, where he passed his concerts exams, and became a teacher. He continued his studies with Professor Maria Livia São Marcos at the Conservatorium of Geneva.

Jürgen Schöllmann won prizes at several international guitar competitions: in 1977 2nd Prize at the 19th International Guitar Competition of Radio France in Paris, France; in 1978 2nd Prize at the 7th International Guitar Competition "Fernando Sor" in Rome, Italy; in 1979 1st Prize at the International Guitar Competition of Alessandria City, Italy and Golden Medal of the Heitor Villa-Lobos Museum in São Paolo, Brazil.

Jürgen Schöllmann has given concerts in German (Munich, Cologne, Nuremberg). France (Paris), Italy (Rome, Alessandria), Switzerland (Zürich, Berne, Basel), Spain (Madrid). He has also appeard in radio broadcasts in his homeland and abroad.
