The German mezzo-soprano, Claudia Schneider, received her training at Munich's Music and Theatre Academy. She studied operatic singing with Daphne Evangelatos and song interpretation with Donald Sulzen and Helmut Deutsch. A grantee of the German Theatre Association and the Munich Rotary Club, she also took master classes from Irwin Gage and Deon van der Walt.
Claudia Schneider, who is equally at home on the concert and the opera stage, has portrayed such roles as Cherubino in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, Hänsel in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel and Nancy in Britten's Albert Herring.
Claudia Schneider was accepted into the "Young Ensemble" at the Bavarian State Opera for the 1998-1999 season. Guest engagements and concert appearances at home and abroad followed, bringing the singer, for example, to Vienna, Berlin, Leipzig, Madrid and Israel. |
