The young German soprano, Tina Scherer, studied in Düsseldorf with the tenor Werner Compes and at the with the Duesseldorfer and at the Musikhochschule Köln with Professor Klesie Kelly-Moog, where she lfinished her studies with with honour. She was prize-winner of numerous national and international singing competitions, such as the 1st Prize at the International Hilde Zadek Singing Competition in Vienna in September 2003, and in 1999 the prize for the best achievement of new generation at the International Singing Competition in Coburg. She has participated in several master-classes, among them with Philip Langridge, Thomas Quasthoff, Brigitte Fassbaender and Gundula Janowitz, with whom she works regularly since 1999.
Tina Scherer's widespread repertoire could have been heard in numerous concerts and Lieder recitals. At the Züricher Oper she sang the title role of Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady. Pamina (Zauberflöte) and Rosalinde in Fledermaus, with which she appeard on a German tour in spring 1999, belong to her favourite roles. She could be heard singing the soprano part in Carmina Burana for the first time in July 2000 at the Ludwigsburger Schloßfestspielen. In spring 2002 she sang with Helmuth Rilling's in a series of J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion (BWV 245), among other places at the Kölner Philharmonie. In summer 2002 she was engaged at the International Festivals in Aix-en-Provence. In 2003 she got scholarship of the Richard-Wagner-Stipendienstiftung Bayreuth. For the 2003-2005 seasons she was engaged at the Studio der Rheinoper Düsseldorf. With the Collegium Cantorum Köln she sang in November 2003 the Requiem of Gabriel Fauré and the hymn Hör mein Bitten by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy. |
