The German classical trumpet, piccolo trumpet and corno da caccia player, Rudi Scheck, started to play the trumpet at the age of 11. He took private lessons from Dale Marrs, professor Robert Bodenroeder, Jean-François Michel, and professor Anthony Plog. In addition he participated in various master-classes, e.g with Edward H. Tarr, Pierre Thibaud, Bo Nilson, and Roger Delmotte.
From 1983 to 1987, Rudi Scheck played first trumpet with the Philharmonic Student Orchestra Tuebingen, with whom he also went on several tours, which included South America. In 1985 he founded the Stuttgart Baroque Collegium. Disk recordings followed in 1986 and 1989, CD recordings on behalf of the Hänssler Publishing House (Holzgerlingen, Germany) in 1992, 1995, and 1999. Co-operation with the Suedwestfunk Baden-Baden in 1995. Additional engagements comprise the Ludwigsburg Schlossfestspiele, Bach-Collegium Stuttgart with Helmuth Rilling as well as occasional cooperation with the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker. In performances of J.S. Bach's cantatas and oratorio he plays the solo trumpet as well as in the trumpet ensemble. In performances with historical instruments he also plays the natural trumpet. His busy concert activities take him throughout Germany and abroad, where he mainly plays in combination with organ, which is his specialty. |
