Nozomi Sato (Conductor)

Born: Kitakyushu, Japan

The Japanese conductor and music pedagogue and researcher, N0zomi Sato [Japanes: ], graduated from the Faculty of Music, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music (April 1984-March 1988); obtained his Master of Arts degree in Music History from the Division of Music, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music(April 1988-March 1992); completed his Doctoral Course in Music History at the Division of Music, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, Graduate School (April 1992-March 1996).

Nozomi Sato has worked as Research Assistant at Faculty of Music, Department of Musicology, Tokyo University of the Arts (April 1996-March 1999); Visiting Professor at School of Music, University of British Columbia, Canada (March 2016-February 2017); Department of Comparative Arts, Aoyama Gakuin University (April 2018-March 2019); Professor in Musicology at Keio University (April 2007-March 2019); Professor at International Christian University College of Liberal Arts Division of Arts and Sciences (since April 2019). He currently lives in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, Japan.
