The Romanian soprano, Melinda Samson, graduated from the Academia de Muzică clujeană (Cluj Music Academy) in 2005, specializing in master-classes with Rachel Harnisch, Jan Philip Schulze (Switzerland) and Monika Mauch (Germany). She has won a number of awards in specialized competitions, such as the 2nd Prize at the International Baroque Music Festival 2011 - "La Stravaganza" in Cluj-Napoca, the Second Prize at the "Martian Negrea" National Singing Competition in Ploiesti in 2000 and 1st Prize at "Hariclea Darclée" in Braila in 1999.
As a soloist Melinda Samson participated in numerous concerto, chamber music, opera gigs, Lied recitals and festivals in Romania, Germany, Hungary, Turkey and Republic of Moldova. At present she is a university lecturer at "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu, Faculty of Letters and Arts, Department of Theater Art. |
