The Seattle Baroque Orchestra (= SBO) was founded in 1994 by violinist Ingrid Matthews (Music Director) and harpsichordist Byron Schenkman (Artistic Director). Since then, the SBO has been exploring the magnificent repertoire of George Frideric Handel and J.S. Bach, Monteverdi and Purcell, Corelli and Antonio Vivaldi (not to mention Biber, Castello, Schmelzer and Jan Dismas Zelenka!). As, it has been a joy and a privilege to bring you these concerts, and to do so with such wonderful colleagues, Board and staff. As SBO has matured, many changes and challenges have been weathered, and I am proud of the organization we have built.
In 2008-2009 season, joining SBO outstanding Seattle-based core as guest soloists and directors are an array of some of the most eminent names in early music, among them: Stephen Stubbs, David Greenberg, Marion Verbruggen, Monica Huggett, and Stanley Ritchie. |
