The Dutch pianist and composer, Jan-Willem Rozenboom,is known in daily life for 19 years as the pianist, composer and producer of singer Guus Meeuwis. He wrote together with his many hits including Toen ik je zag, Brabant and Tranen gelachen.
Jan-Willem Rozenboom is also less knopwn as one of the most talented classical pianists in the Netherlands. He graduated in 2000 with honors from the Conservatory with the renowned pianist and composer Alexander Hrisanide and completed in 2003, the master's program of the legendary Rian de Waal at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag (Royal Conservatory in The Hague).
Since then, he trained himself, alongside his career in pop music, 11 years in J.S. Bach's Goldberg Variations (BWV 988) - an undertaking that few pianists venture. For interpreting J.S. Bach's masterpiece requires great technique, virtuosity and daring. Jan-Willem Rozenboom proves to have a large element of all three qualifications. |
