The American coloratura soprano, Jennifer Lynn Rouse, has enjoyed a European career while taking a special interest in using classical music to initiate cultural understanding. As a member of the Zürich Opera Studio she appeared with artists such as Mirella Freni and Samuel Ramey in Fedora and L’amore dei tre re on the mainstage. After performing the role of Papagena with the Zürich Opera, she debuted as Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte for Opera St. Gallen in Switzerland.
Also a winner of such competitions as the George London Foundation and the Metropolitan Opera, Jennifer Lynn Rouse appeared on the American Broadcasting Network in a show that featured young opera talent. As a concert artist she has performed known works such as Mozart’s Exultate, jubilate at the Brevard Music Festival and Dido and Aeneas with the Nuremberg International Chamber Music Festival. Her first world premiere was Luca Lombardi’s Prospero, an opera based on Shakespeare’s The Tempest, in the role of Ariel, at the Staatsoper Nuremberg. A benefit performace in Amman, Jordan with the Jordan Symphony Orchestra led to further concerts, opening more doors to an exchange of musical and cultural ideas between the Middle East and Western Cultures, something Rouse hopes to explore and build upon. |
