The German pianist, Inge Rosar, completed her studies at Hochschule für Musik in Saarbrücken, studying with Professor Walter Blankenheim. She won awards at numerous competitions, including the 1st prize at the Bach competition, Paris.
Inge Rosar performed recitals with solo, chamber music and song works in Europe, Russia, USA, Argentina, South Korea and Australia, and has given master-classes and held lectures in Universities and Conservatoriums in Europe, USA, South Korea and Australia. Since 2007 she performed only music by J.S. Bach.
In 1992, together with Prof. Walter Blankenheim, Inge Rosar organised the first International Piano Competition J.S. Bach, Würzburg (which previously took place in Saarbrücken). From 1998, she is a member of the Jury and from 2007 the Artistic Director, Administrator and Chair of the Jury. From 2001, she is a Professor of Piano and Methodology at the Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg, Germany. In January 2012, her text: "Problems and chance. Performing the Keyboard Works of JS Bach on the Modern Piano" appeared in the book The Pianist’s Craft. Mastering the works of great composers (published by Scarecrow Press in the USA).Together with Dr. Kirill Monorosi they are preparing a new interpretive edition of the keyboard works of J.S. Bach. The ideas that form the basis for the performance suggestions in the new edition will be discussed during the Bach courses. The publication of the French Suites and the Two-part Inventions is expected in December 2016 through La folia Music Publications. |
