The German pianist and arranger, Johannes Roloff, is the son of the pianist Helmut Roloff and recived training in piano since 1964. From 1977 to 1983 he studied the piano in Berlin and Munich.
Johannes Roloff has given concerts in Japan, Korea, Canada, Russia, Mexico, Brasil and Switzerland. He has worked with various orchestras as a soloist, including the Berliner Symphoniker, Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, Orquestra Camara Bellas Artes in Mexico City, Seoul Sinfonietta, and Philharmonic Orchestra of Kaliningrad.
In addition to his work as a pianist, Johannes Roloff has also a reputation as a creator of film and stage music, eg for the play Operetta by Witold Gombrowicz (1987) and for the animated film film Der kleine Prinz ("The Little Prince") (1990).
Since 1991 Johannes Roloff is working as an arranger, musical director and pianist with the German-Swiss-Bulgarian comedy trio Geschwister Pfister. Over the past eight years, they performed stage shows as well as the operetta Im weißen Rössl ("The White Horse Inn"), an adaptation of the Grimm's fairy tale of "Snow White" under the title "The Voice of Snow White" and the boulevard comedy Therapie Zwecklos.
In March 1995 Johannes Roloff was a member of the Jury of the International Bach Piano Competition in Saarbrücken. |
