The Itaslian harpsichordist, Mariolina De Robertis, was born in Florence, and lives in Rome where he studied with Ferruccio Vignanello.
Since his debut in contemporary music, which took place in 1959 with the performance of Serenata di Petrassi conducted by Bruno Maderna, Mariolina De Robertis devoted himself with equal interest to the music of ancient and contemporary. Since 1960 many compositions for the harpsichord were devoted to him by Cardoons, Clementi, Franco Donatoni, Guaccero, Laganà, Macchi, Maselli, Pennisi, Panni, Sbordoni, Sciarrino, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Solbiati, Tosi, Vandor, La Licata, and many others. He has 170 compositions in contemporary repertoire.
Mariolina De Robertis has been invited to participate in the best-known festivals (Venice Biennale, Palermo, Spoleto, Berlin, Warsaw, Brescia, Como, Baalbeck), and has performed in premiere in France, Germany, Spain, Poland, as well as in Italy, music by Luciano Berio , Carter, Brown, Halffter, Manzoni and Petrassi. He has performed with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Bruno Maderna, Bour, Gerard Schwarz, Peskó, Meckat, Ferro, Panni, Gelmetti and Eotvos.
Mariolina De Robertis won the Premio della Critica Discografica (Discography Critics Award) in 1976 for his album with music by Clementi, Panni, Pennisi, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Franco Donatoni and Togni, and in 1979 for the album with music by Bernardo Storace.
In 1992 Mariolina De Robertis formed together with Ruggero Laganà a Duo targeted mainly to the music of today, for whom several works have already been written. |
