The German soprano, Christiane Rittner, began her musical career with transverse flute and violin lessons before she discovered her preference for singing. In 2000, she began her diploma studies in singing with Professor Thomas Dewald and Elaine Woods at the Musikhochschule Rheinland-Pfalz in Mainz. In addition, she studied elementary music education with Christa Schäfer. She completed her artistic diploma studies in singing with Professor Monica Pick-Hieronimi at the Musikhochschule Köln in April 2009. She also attended master-classes, with Peter Schreier, Klesie Kelly-Moog and Noelle Turner, among others. She appeared in 2003-2004 season in a Hochschule production of the opera Angelique by J. Ibert as well as the scenic performance of the oratorio Juditha Triumphans by Antonio Vivaldi at the Staatstheater Mainz.
In spring 2006, Christiane Rittner sang the role of Queen of the Night in a production of W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte in Bad Kreuznach. She works as a freelance artist as a soloist and in various ensembles. As part of this activity, she sang under conductors such as Marcus Creed, Rupert Huber, Michael Hofstetter, Walter Nussbaum, Christoph Spering. She also performs works of contemporary music and sings regularly in ensembles such as the Klangforum Heidelberg, ChorWerk Ruhr (Director: Florian Helgath), etc. |
