The Belgian mezzo-soprano, Laurence Renson, has a degree in history and French literature postgraduate. Following that, she studied singing with Greta de Reyghere and Jean-Pierre Peuvion at the Conservatoire Royal de Musique of Liège, where she obtained a first prize and the higher degree of concert singing with great distinction (class of Ludovic de San) at the Conservatoire Royal de Musique of Brussels. She then perfected in Baroque singing with Rachel Yakar, Gerda Hartman and Stephan Van Dyck.
Laurence Renson works with various ensembles specializing in Baroque music: De Nederlandse Bachvereniging (Director: Jos van Veldhoven), Akadêmia Ensemble with Françoise Lasserre, Scherzi Musicali with Nicolas Achten and Arsys Bourgognes (Director: Pierre Cao). She created the a cappella vocal trio Isocèle, mainly addressing the composers of the 20th and 21st centuries, but also the 16th and 17th centuries. Her repertoire includes a variety of opera roles: La Rappresentazione di Corpo and Anima de Cavalieri (Monnaie y), King Arthur, Dido and Aeneas by Purcell, L’Amour Fléch by Constance de Delalande, Les Petites Filles Modèles by Schöllhorn, LOrfeo by Landi and Euridice by Caccini. |
