The mixed vocal ensemble Raggio di Sol (Sonnenstrahl) was founded in 1994 and focuses on Renaissance and Baroque music.
In the concerts, a fundamental theme from different perspectives is always illuminated, while the balance between seriously reflective and cheerful life-loving themes is striven for. The ensemble deliberately counteracts the pursuit of senseless fun, and thus constitutes a counterpoint to the mainstream of eventideology. The light of high-quality age music should reach the audience emotionally. For this reason the ensemble attaches great importance to the design of some works. In various programs, Raggio di Sol is accompanied by instrumentalists.
In 1994, 1996 and 2003, Raggio di Sol performed Adriano Banchieri's Barca di Venetia per Padua. Other programmes were "De profundis clamavi ad te Dominum" (Aus der Tiefe rufe ich, Herr, zu Dir, 2000); "Pastime with good company" (Europäische Madrigale, 2001); "Come again, sweet love" (Höfischer Tanz und singende Klage, 2002) or Musikalischen Exequien by Heinrich Schütz in 2003. The concert series 2004 was entitled "Laudate Dominum", in 2006 the motto was " Von menschlicher und göttlicher Liebe " (Of Human and Divine Love). There were spiritual and secular works of the Renaissance and the early Baroque from Germany, France, Italy, England.
In addition, there is a special Advent programme every year. Raggio di Sol organizes 10 to 12 concerts every year. In 1999 the ensemble won a silver meal at the International Choral Competition in Riva del Garda, Italy. In the summer of 2001 the ensemble made a concert tour through southern France. |
