The Quo Vadis Quartet was founded in March 2006, on the main stage of the city of Mérida - "José Peón Contreras" - the most important stage in southeastern Mexico. The Quartet is composed of four talented musicians - Pawel Blaszkowski (Poland) and Tim Myall (England) violins, Jaroslav Meluzin (Czech Republic) viola and Nadezda Golubeva (Russia) cello.
The presentations that they have had in that brief time found enthusiastic reaction of the public, were recorded by the radio of the Autonomous University of Yucatán and published in the main newspapers of the peninsula of Yucatán.
Among the first achievements of the Quartet are:
Appearance as soloist accompanied by Chamber Orchestra of the Autonomous University of Yucatan (June 2006)
The closing of VI International Guitar Festival in Mérida, Yucatan with renowned Mexican guitarist Rafael Jiménez (November 2006)
Participation in the 3rd International Festival of Arts in Mérida, Yucatan (January 2007)
Inauguration of 1st Cycle of Religious Music for Easter in Mérida, Yucatán (April 2007)
Recently the Quartet received master-classes from the famous Cuarteto Latinoamericano (Latin American Quartet) and obtained its great support in the promotion of classifying Quo Vadis as one of the most promising and strong groups in the current scene of Mexico. |
