The Austrian tenor, Johannes Puchleitner, was a choirboy in Salzburg. He studied at the Tiroler Landeskonservatorium (horn), at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg (horn and singing, graduation as Master of Arts), at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich (concert singing with Professor Adalbert Kraus, Artistic diploma examination for the diploma concert singer) and at the MCI Innsbruck (music school management and training program for musicians in management).
From 1994 to 1998, Johannes Puchleitner was assistant to Professor Howard Arman with the Innsbrucker Capellknaben; from 1993 to 1999, teacher for horn and singing at the Landesmusikschule St. Johann in Tyrol; from 2003 to 2004, Artistic Director of the Innsbrucker Capellknaben.
As a freelance singer, Johannes Puchleitner works mainly in the field of Lieder and oratorios at home and abroad, specializing in early music and contemporary music. As a soloist and ensemble singer he is a permanent member of the Neuen Innsbrucker Hofkapelle and the Capella Wilthinensis. Numerous CD recordings document his work. Since 1999, he is director of the Landesmusikschule Wörgl. Since 2006, lecturer at the Tiroler Landeskonservatorium (vocal training of Wiltener Sängerknaben). Hae currently lives in Wörgl, Tyrol. |
