The American pianist, Samuel (Sam) Post, recently completed his master's degree in piano from Northwestern, where he won first prize in the Thaviu-Isaak piano competition. Previously he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in physics from Yale. In his time as an undergraduate he won the senior essay prize for research in astrophysics, conducted a production of Le Nozze di Figaro, played varsity soccer, and worked as a writer and editor for the Yale Herald. He made his recital debut in 2000 with an all-Bach program, and in high school performed as a soloist with the Washington Bach Consort, the Georgetown Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra. In his spare time he enjoys playing and watching soccer, writing, and composing. |
