The Argentinean tenot, Pablo Pollitzer, began his musical career at an early age in the Coro de Niños del Teatro Colón (Children's Choir of the Teatro Colon). He began his studies at the Conservatorio Nacional “Carlos López Buchardo”, completing his training as a singer at the Instituto Sup. de Arte del Teatro Colón, where he was awarded the best mark average (Fundación T. Colón). He was selected by competition for courses with teachers Aldo Baldin, Ernst Haefliger, Renata Paroussel, Thomas Quasthoff and Denise Dupleix. In 1989 he won 1st Prize at the Concurso Asociación Promociones Musicales. In 1991 he won 2nd Prize at the Concurso Bienal Mozart (Festivales Musicales). In 1996 he was a finalist at the International Competition "Toti Dal Monte" (Italy).
Pablo Pollitzer made his debut as a soloist in 1986 with the Mass in B Minor (BWV 232) by J.S. Bach. Since then he has been involved in church music, having sung the most important works of the genre. In opera he has covered numerous major roles (Nemorino in L'Elisir d'amore, Lindoro in The Italian in Algiers, Barber of Seville, among others) at the Teatros Colón, Avenida, the Círculo de Rosario, Municipal de Bahía Blanca, and others. At the Teatro Colón he made his official debut in Alban Berg's Wozzeck, and has since participated in several productions. Since 1998 he travels regularly to Europe to perform especially Baroque music. Currently he participates in several ensembles of Baroque music: Elyma (Director: G. Garrido), Louis Berger (Director: R. Massun), Selva vocal e instrumental (Director: A. Gerszenzon), Compañía de las Luces (Director: M. Birman) and El Tempranillo (Director: M. Olasso). He has taken part in numerous CD recordings.
For several years Pablo Pollitzer taught in courses organised by Fundac. Antorchas in various provinces. He also participated as a teacher in the Camping Musical Bariloche (January 2000). |
