The Plymouth Trio (Ensemble)

Founded: 1983 - Ohio, USA

The Plymouth Trio, soprano, oboe, and keyboard, presents a delightfully varied repertoire by baroque, classical, romantic, and contemporary composers. Founded in 1983, the Trio has been heralded as "an accomplished chamber music ensemble" by Robert Finn of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Recently described as "unsurpassed in its musicianship", the Trio's appearances have included a residencyat Florida State University, with master classes and a recital as Shelfer Scholars; the Mackinac Island Music Festival V; the opening recital for the International Double Reed Society at Towson State University, Maryland; the Riemenschneider Bach Institute; the Artists Series at the Cleveland Institute of Music; and other concerts throughout the United States. The ensemble is a member of the Ohio Arts Council Presenting-Touring Programs, and is represented by Claypoole Management, Inc., of Detroit, Michigan.

The Plymouth Trio has had the distinction of presenting new works by leading international composers including Samuel Adler, Richard Cumming, Lewis Jones, Klaus George Roy, and Eric Stokes.

The Plymouth Trio's first Crystal Records compact disc was released in 1991 and met with an enthusiastic response. The National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) commented as follows: "This colorful program is a juxtaposition of the new and the old. ..with a fine sense of ensemble and style. It offers a well-structured, skillfully presented program."

Members of the Plymouth Trio are: Christina Price (soprano), John Mack (oboe), and John Herr (keyboards), with Robert Perry (cello) assisting.
