The English soprano, Rachel Platt, studied at the University of Bristol and at Birkbeck, University of London.
Rachel Platt sang as a soloist, as well as with the finest early music ensembles, including the Monteverdi Choir (Director: John Eliot Gardiner), Taverner Consort (Director: Andrew Parrott), The Tallis Scholars (Director: Peter Phillips), The English Concert Choir (Director: Trevor Pinnock), Cambridge Singers (Director: John Rutter), Choir of the Enlightenment. Her recent (as of 1993) appearances have ranged from performance of J.S. Bach and Franz Liszt oratorio in Switzerland to a tour of Japan singing Monteverdi with the Taverner Consort. She was featured twice in 1993 on the cover CD of Radio 3 Magazine.
Rachel Platt is a teacher and head of music at Peter Symonds College in Winchester. She currently lives in Winchester, Hampshire.
