The American tenor, Jacob Perry Jr., obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (2010-2014).
Jacob Perry is an avid chamber and solo musician based in Washington, DC. He is gaining attention as a young soloist of great musicality and warmth. He can also be heard frequently singing with such groups as Les Canards Chantants, The Thirteen, The Clarion Choir, ACRONYM, Piffaro, and as a featured soloist with Mountainside Baroque and Apollo's Fire (Director: Jeannette Sorrell), New Consort, Chantry, The Handel Choir of Baltimore, and District 8. He has cultivated a passion for a wide variety of music ranging from medieval folk song to the tight harmonies of vocal jazz. He has experience singing solo and chamber works by contemporary composers through engagements with Third Practice Ensemble, hexaCollective and Great Noise Ensemble.
Jacob Perry's 2016-2017 season included appearances as a featured soloist with Tempesta di Mare, artist in residence at The Central Conservatory of Music (Beijing, China) with Les Canards Chantants, and a mass and concert tour throughout Rome, Italy with the choir of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. His 2017-2018 season included numerous choral and solo engagements throughout the Northeast, his Kennedy Center debut as a featured soloist for Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610, and a Bay Area tour with Apollo's Fire in a semi-staged production of L’Orfeo.
Jacob Perry is a cantor and chorister at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (since March 2013), abd sings with them regularly for masses and concerts broadcast internationally and for the Knights of Columbus annual conference. He teaches private voice lessons in his home in Downtown Sivler Spring, MD. |
