The Italian organist, Giancarlo Parodi, studied piano privately with Maggiorino Berutti Bergotto and in 1960 he graduated with the same piano teacher at the Conservatorio Statale di Musica "Niccolò Paganini" in Genova, obtaining the following year also the organ and organ composition with Giacomo Pedemonte and Luigi Molfino, all with the highes scores.
In 1963, Giancarlo Parodi was appointed titular organist and choirmaster at the Basilica di S. Maria Assunta in Gallarate, an activity he still performs today. Since 1969 he has held the chair of Organ and Organ Composition at the Conservatorio di Musica “Bonporti” in Trento; then moved in 1986 at the Conservatorio “Giuseppe Verdi” in Milan, until 2002. From 1990 to 2012 he was main Professor of Organ at the Pontificio Istituto di Musica Sacra in Rome. He is currently Professor of Organ at the Scuola Diocesana di Musica “Santa Cecilia” in Brescia.
Giancarlo Parodi is founder and Honorary President for life of the " dell'Associazione Organistica “Renato Lunelli” di Trento; he was a member of the Commissione Diocesana di Musica Sacra di Milano for about forty years; for five years he was President of the dell'Associazione Italiana Organisti di Chiesa.
