The Orchestra Classica was founded in 2009 by its artistic and musical director Willi Derungs in Bern. The professional musicians involved have an orchestra or soloist diploma and are experienced orchestra musicians. The orchestra brings together experienced orchestral musicians on the one hand, including members of the Berner Sinfonieorchester and other orchestras, and talented, aspiring young musicians who have completed their training as orchestral musicians on the other.
The chamber orchestra is based on the repertoire. The core repertoire of the orchestra is the music of the Viennese Classic with J. Haydn and W.A. Mozart. The orchestra also plays just as much Baroque and 20th century music. The members of the orchestra also perform in chamber music ensembles. The orchestra already has a lot of experience in accompanying vocal formations and vocal and instrumental soloists. In addition, members of the orchestra appear regularly as soloists. The orchestra musicians are highly committed personalities and members of various orchestral and chamber music formations.
The Orchestra Classica has given concerts in Zürich, Chur and Ilanz as well as in Bern. |
