Ensemble Ongaku Zammai (Instrumental Ensemble)

Born: 1984 - Japan

Ensemble Ongaku Zammai was formed 1984. Recreating piano and orchestral songs using old instruments such as harpsichord, viola da gamba, and recorder, and modern instruments such as flute, violin, cello, and double-bass. The arrangement are by the ensemble member Mizuhiro Tazaki. So far, the ensdemble has produced more than 20 kinds of programs and released 7 CD's. In 2002, the ensemble was invited by Dartmouth College in the USAs (supported by the Japan Foundation). They appeared in 3 titles of NHK TV "Masterpiece Album", and held 3 performances of "Music at Tsuda Hall" (co-sponsored by Tsuda Hall). The ensemble received the 7th "Sarai Grand Prize" CD / DVD category award for the 2-CD album "Ongaku Zammai / Bach" released in 2008. In 2010, the activity was suspended due to the death of member Junichi Tanaka, but with the addition of Kanae Kikuchi in 2013, the activity was resumed, the repertoire was increased, and the new regular performance was the sixth.
