Eva Oltiványi (Soprano)

Born: Zürich, Switzerland

The Swiss soprano, Eva Oltiványi, studied singing at the Zurich Academy of Music with Jane Thorner-Mengedoht. She concluded her studies obtaining the music teacher and soloist diploma cum laude. She was awarded awarded scholarship by the Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund several times. From 1994 to 1996 she continued her studies at the Biel Opernstudio.

Eva Oltiványi made her operatic debut with the Biel Opernstudio, singing, among other roles, Olympia, Contessa, Lucy (The Telephone), and Constanze. With the European Opera Centre in 1998 she appeared as Giunia in Mozart's Lucio Silla on tour through Great Britain, and in Copenhagen. She also toured Europe as Constanze, performing at the Copenhagen, Garsington, Lucerne, Brussels, Stuttgart, Naples, and Venice opera houses and concert halls. She was invited to sing at various music festivals in Switzerland and England, for example the Zürich and Lucerne festivals, where she excelled in various types of music, including a broad range of contemporary compositions. In January 2002, she particpated in the production of Robert Walser's Aschenbrödel at the Theater Forum. Her international concert career is documented in a number of radio recordings.

Eva Oltivànyi maintains a busy concert schedule (shows, orchestral concerts, chamber music, recitals) at home and abroad and has worked successfully with renowned conductors such as J. Belohlávek, R. Weikert, K. Ono, Helmuth Rilling, Jordi Savall, S. Rouland, Rudolf Lutz, M. Valdés, Howard Griffiths, and S. Bedford, and orchestras such as the Zürich Tonhalle Orchestra, Zürcher Kammerorchester, Asturian Symphony Orchestra, Madrid Radio Orchestra, Prague Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, Royal Flanders Philharmonic Orchestra, and many others. At La Fenice she has recently sung Woglinde in Götterdämmerung. She is a member of the Swiss Chamber Music Ensemble Elis, which performs mainly contemporary works, and the Vokalensembles Zürich. She sangat the Musikwochen Braunwald and the Waldhaus Musik Flims.

Since 2005, Eva Oltiványi has been a guest teacher at the Antwerp Academy of Music. She also gives master-classes (South America)
