The American pianist, Luka Oida, started her piano studies at the age of 6. In Los Angeles, she attended the Colburn School pre-college program, and then earned her Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance at Northwestern University. After moving to New York City in 2009, she completed her Master’s degree in Piano Performance at the Manhattan School of Music.
Luka Oida is an active performer, with a history of solo and chamber appearances in major metropolitan areas, including New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Her talent has taken her beyond the USA to Austria, Italy, and Japan. As a soloist, she performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in D Minor with Austria’s Vienna Residence Orchestra. In the wake of the 2011 tsunami, SHE has toured Japan every summer with fellow colleagues from the Juilliard School to give charity concerts.
Luka Oida has had extensive pedagogical training and experience teaching piano since as early as high school. Since moving to New York City in 2009, she has kept an active private studio. She serves on the faculty at Geneva Conservatory of Music located in Manhattan. Her teaching credits include: Lucy Moses School at the Kaufman center, outreach programs with Piano School NYC, and overseas with Community Arts Tokyo. |
