The German tenor, Jürgen Ochs, studied at the Musikhochschule in Karlsruhe Catholic church music and at the Musikhochschule in Dortmund singing, finishing with the artistic Matura.
Besides being church musician working as district Kantor of the Erzdiözese Freiburg (at the Stadtkirche St. Alexander in Rastatt), Jürgen Ochs appears as a tenor soloist in numerous concerts. Through his many years of concert activity, he has acquired a huge repertoire. Among his favourite works are the Evangelist part in J.S. Bach's major oratorios, several cantatas, oratorios of the Classical and Romantic periods as well as Lieder and Lieder cycles by Schubert, Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms. As part of his solo work he is invited to give concerts in Germany and other European countries. In addition, he regularly gives recitals, including at the Rastatter Schlosskonzerte. Through his numerous engagements as a tenor soloist, he has performed together with many ensembles and professional orchestras, especially in the area of the early music.
In addition, Jürgen Ochs is a lecturer for singing at the Hochschule für Kirchenmusik in
