The Hungarian conductor, Géza Oberfrank, studied composition and conducting at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music.
From 1961 to 1974 Géza Oberfrank was a conductor at the Hungarian State Opera, and from 1974 to 1979 principal conductor at the Komische Oper in Berlin. In 1980 he returned to the Hungarian State Opera in a career that has also brought many engagements abroad in major opera-houses in Europe and elsewhere. |
