Olde Friends Concert Artists (= OFCA) is a core musical duo whose distinctive command of Baroque instruments dazzles; whose warmth and power of expression moves; whose sense of humor and sociability engages.
Founder and Artistic Director Ann Marie Morgan is one of the world's leading violists da gamba, whose sound has been characterized as "straight from heaven" (H&B Recordings Direct). She has appeared as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Minnesota Orchestra, been a guest at countless Bach festivals (including Oregon Bach Festival and Bethlehem Bach Festival), and performs regularly with the nation's outstanding Baroque musicians.
In Olde Friends, she is joined by virtuoso violinist Allison Edberg and a roster of guest artists which have included William Simms, Theorbo and Lute; Jory Vinikour, Harpsicord (winner of the International Harpsicord Competitions of Warsaw and Prague); Andrea Fullington, Soprano (from Bimbetta); Emlyn Ngai, Baroque violin (winner of the Locatelli Concours Amsterdam); and Jeannette Sorrell, Harpsicord (Founder and Director of Appolo's Fire - Cleveland Baroque Orchestra).
The core duo of Ann Marie Morgan and Allison Edberg make accessible the beauty, intimacy, and power of Baroque music performed on original instruments. Enhanced by collaborations with guest artists, the irresistible spontaneity of Olde Friends performances creates a living link between music of the past and the audiences of today. |
