The Dutch alto/mezzo-sorano, Chantal Nysingh, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Singing from Artez Conservatorium Zwolle (2010); and her Master of Music degree in Classical Singing from at Artez Conservatorium Zwolle (2010-2012). She graduated in 2015 from the ArtEZ Conservatorium in Zwolle with Riekje Bakker and Harry van Berne. In recent years she has attended master-classes with, among others, Allison Pearce, Barbara Schlick, Barbara Hannigan and Neil Semer. She is currently being coached by Hanneke de Wit.
Chantal Nysingh regularly performs as a soloist in the oratorio repertoire. She sang in J.S. Bach's Hohe Messe (BWV 232), St Matthew Passion (BWV 244), Magnificat (BWV 243) and several of his cantatas. In addition, among others in the Requiems by W.A. Mozart and Maurice Duruflé. As such, she has worked with conductors such as Wolfgang Lange, Patrick van der Linden, Hoite Wigsma, Geert van den Dungen and Pauli Yap. In the opera genre, she performed the role of Dido in Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas (at the Opera Minerva) and the role of Cherubino in W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro (at the International Belcanto Academy).
Chantal Nysingh is also a sought-after ensemble singer. She regularly sings in the Nederlands Kamerkoor (since December 2014) and has been on various tours with them, including to China and South America. Here she had the opportunity to sing under exceptional conductors such as Bernard Haitink, Edo de Waart and Peter Dijkstra. She was also part of the Gesualdo Consort Amsterdam in a CD recording of W.A. Mozart's Requiem. She has also been a member of Capella Frisiae; EVA Vocaal Ensemble; and Groot Omroepkoor (since April 2018). She has also sung in the Cantatavespers in Hilversum (3 times); in Bach Cantatedienst in De Burgwal Kampen (June 2022); and with Ensemble Illustre in Cantate op de Brink in Hilversum (November 2022). |
