The Orquesta Barroca Nuevo Mundo (New World Baroque Orchestra), part of the Música Antigua Nuevo Mundo project, is a formation formed in the Libertador region, with the aim of spreading the repertoire from the 16th to the 18th centuries. For this, an important musicological work has been developed both from the point of view of sources and that of organology, interpreting original versions of the works with copies of the instruments of each century.
Art is no longer a monopoly of elites, but it is still a privilege of large cities, they are convinced that this changes thery must commit themselves to the management of their work and with a clear accent on the regional, promoting the arts and crafts that they are linked to instruments and music, since musical performance is the union of various disciplines, encompassing different models of life, where harmony, rhythm, is one, therefore, the end should be the same for all ; in such a way that this project goes beyond each one of us, disregarding one for the other and for the music; That it is an immense intellectual and affective gain, of an individual contribution for the achievement of group ends.
As for the members of the Orquesta Barroca Nuevo Mundo, it is worth noting their extensive experience in historical performance, having formed part of specialized ensembles, an added value the age of its members, which is, ranging from 25 to 40 years , that is, an orchestra with new energies, unprecedented in the country, which means that the works to be performed will be released in their original versions.
The Orquesta Barroca Nuevo Mundo has unquestionably positioned itself at the first level of the Chilean groups that are dedicated to the interpretation of early music with historicist criteria. This is accounted for by the level of its musicians and previous experiences.
This orchestra expands its value, in the commitment with the luthería of the regional capital, which together with Christian González and Rafael Mardones have developed instruments of historical reproduction that are used by the orchestra's instrumentalists, thus achieving that this orchestra becomes a unique institution in the continent that includes the four areas of music; Interpretation, Research, Creation and Luthería.
His interpretative versatility and his interest in the recovery of both national and international musical heritage determine that his carefully selected programs incorporate both the great works of the universal repertoire and those that, due to their intrinsic musical quality and / or their musicological value, they are worthy of generalized knowledge on the part of the public, in the most didactic and close way possible.
A unique and self-managing project that uses Baroque instruments, turned into a hotbed for high-level musicians, is the first of its kind and forms an important academic project that covers a gap that cannot be postponed, in the recovery of old music, with new energy . |
