The Musica Alta Ripa ensemble was established in 1984 and has gone on to enjoy extraordinary success in its numerous concerts and in collaboration with various radio networks. One special interest of the ensemble is its work together with vocal soloists in an effort to reclaim for musical practice the fascinating repertoire of cantatas of chamber instrumentation. The name of the ensemble tribute to Hannnoer: the members reside in that city, and many of them received important stimuli for their musical endeavours at its music academy. The Latin Alta Ripa means “High Riverbank“, and “Hanover“ (German: “Hannover“), the modern name of the city, developed from the Middle high German form „honovere“. |

Koerppen, occupation with the baroque violin during her studies, continuing education in courses and in collaboration with other baroque musicians, freelance violinist since 1983, member of various ensembles and orchestras, including Das Kleine Konzert, Capella Agostino Steffani, La Stagione Frankfurt, and “Les Adieux“, Baroque violin instructorship at the Würzburg Academy of Music during 1989-1990. |

Albert Brüggen |
|
Studied with Eilias Arizcuren and Dmitri Ferschtman in Amsterdam and completed his studies in 1933. He was the solo cellist in the Holland Youth Orchestra and a member of the New Sinfonietta Chamber Orchestra of Amsterdam from 1988 to 1991. He participated in master classes led by Natalia Gutman and Colin Carr and received the second prize at the Eindhoven International Competition in 1992. He has since gone on to perform in many European early music orchestras, among them the Orchestra of the 18th Century, Freiburger Barockorchester and Les Musiciens du Louvre, and in a number of smaller ensembles. He is a member of the Ensemble Amadé. |

Juris Teichmanis |
|
Studied under Christoph Henkel in Freiburg and under Martin Ostertag in Karlsruhe before rounding off his education under Anner Bylsma and Lidewij Schiefes in Amsterdam. Since then he has been active mainly in the field of early music and has served as a member and guest of numerous ensembles, including the Freiburger Barockorchester, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Concerto Köln, Orchestre des Champs-Èlysées of Paris, Cantus Cölln, and La Stagione Frankfurt. Concert tours have taken him through Europe, the USA, South America, and Southeast Asia. |
