The Slovak soprano, Stanislava Mihalcová, began singing in her childhood (she was a member of the Žilina-based girls’ choir La Tortorella). She studied at the Žilina Conservatory in Slovakia and at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in Doc. Magdaléna Hajossyová's class. She took part at classic courses at Magdalena Nador in The Summer Academy in Baden and Baroque interpretation courses with Marius van Altena and Julie Hassler (2005). During her studies she absolved semester at The North Netherlands Conservatoire in Groningen with Jan and Gerda van Zelm (2005). In 2011 she won the first prize in the International singing competition in Karlovy Vary in song field, with the special awards of Czech Radio and Antonín Dvořák Muzeum.
Stanislava Mihalcová has mainly performed Classical and Baroque music, with songs forming a significant part of her repertoire. She pursues intensive vocalist concert activity in cooperation with several chamber ensembles and instrumental vocalists focusing mostly on Baroque music like Musica Florea (Director: Marek Štryncl), Ensemble Inégal (Director: Adam Viktora), Collegium Vocale 1704 (Director: Václav Luks),, Czech Baroque ensemble (Director: Roman Válek) and Collegium Vocale Gent (Director: Philippe Herreweghe), and Cappella Augustana (Director: Matteo Messori), which are also frequent guests of domestic and foreign festivals, like Prague Spring, Concentus Moraviae, Lípa Musica, St. Wenceslas Festival Ostrava, Musiekcenter DeBijloke Gent; Festival d'Ambronay, Festival de Sablé and La Chaise Dieu in France; Oude Muziek in Utrecht, Resonanzen in Vienna, and Salzburg Festival in Austria; Festival de Música Sacra de Bilbao in Spain; and others. She has also appeared as a guest at the National Theatre Opera in Prague (Národní divadlo).
In 2005 Stanislava Mihalcová appeared within the project of Chamber Opera Prague and the Music Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro in the role of Susanna. She has also participated at Ch.W.Gluk´s opera Le Cinesi (Sivene), Julius Zeyer’s melodrama Radúz and Mahulena at the National Theatre in Prague, Monteverdi´s Combattimento in Znojmo music festival and in George Frideric Handel´s opera Rinaldo in role Sirena/Donna for National Theater in Prague, Grand Théatre in Luxemburg, Opéra de Rennes and the Opéra Royal de Versailles. In 2018 participate in Monteverdi´s opera Orfeo in Plzeň theatre. |
