Thre American tenor, choral conductor and music pedagogue, Vincent Metallo, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and Vocal Performance from the Hartt School of Music in West Hartford, Connecticut; and his Master of Music degree in Conducting from Westminster Choir College in Priceton, New Jersey.
Vincent Metallo has distinguished himself in recent years as an eagerly sought after conductor, singer and music educator. Director of the Princeton High School Choral Department, he is the Music Director of the acclaimed Pennsylvania Girlchoir based in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania. He has held the positions of Chair of the Performing Arts at the Princeton Day School, Artistic Director of The American Boychoir and Assistant Professor of Music at Westminster Choir College, DePauw University, Wellesley College and Lehigh University.
Vincent Metallo has collaborated on numerous performances with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and New York Collegium, Princeton Symphony Orchestra and the Dryden Ensemble of Princeton, New Jersey; preparing choirs for the world's leading conductors; Lorin Maazel, Kurt Masur, Hans Vonk, John Eliot Gardiner, James Conlon, Christoph Eschenbach, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Andrew Davis, Mariss Jansons and Andre Previn. He has toured throughout the USA and internationally (US Virgin Islands, Japan, Latvia, Slovenia, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, and Italy) performing over 700 concerts.
Recorded and televised events include Heinrich Biber's Missa Christi Resurgentis with the New York Collegium under the direction of Andrew Parrott; A Ceremony of Carols at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts for Public Radio International; PBS Live from Lincoln Center; A&E's Breakfast with the Arts; The Lost Christmas Eve with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Voice of America, United States Government Program; Prayer Cycle II by Jonathan Elias; Hymns of Heaven and Earth, Dorian Records; Christmas Daybreak with The Crossing Choir of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and numerous others.
Vincent Metallo is a member of The Crossing, Vocal Ensemble of Philadelphia, Fuma Sacra of Princeton, New Jersey and has performed with the Carmel Bach Festival, New York Collegium, Boston Early Music Festival, Bloomington Early Muic Festival, Connecticut Early Music Festival, Lincoln Center Summer Music Fesival, Brandywine Baroque, Choir of St. Ignatius Loyola Church of New York City, Choir of St. Clements Church of Philadelphia, The Choir of Church of the Advent of Boston, Massachusetts, and the Spoleto Festival of South Carolina and Italy.
Vincent Metallo is certified in Kodaly music pedagogy through the Kodaly Musical Training Institute. He currently lives in Lambertville, New Jersey. |
