Tristan Meister (Conductor)

Born: November 14, 1989 - Ellar, Hesse, Germany

The German conductor, Tristan Meister, received his first musical training with the Limburger Domsingknaben He studied at Hochschule für Musik (Class of 2011); then choir conducting with Georg Grün, Frieder Bernius and Harald Jers as well as orchestral conducting with Klaus Arp at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim (2011-2017).

Tristan Meister founded the semi-professional chamber choir Vox Quadrata and is Musical Director of the Jugendchores Hochtaunus, Kammerchor Hochtaunus and Wormser Kammerensemble. With the Beethovenchor Ludwigshafen he performs oratorio and choral symphonic works from all eras and works regularly with the Kammerphilharmonie Mannheim, Kurpfälzischen Kammerorchester and the Deutschen Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz. In 2019, he took over the artistic direction of the Knabenchöre der Singschule Cantus Juvenum Karlsruhe. He is also the founder and conductor of the Ensemble Vocapella Limburg, with which he won, among other things, 1st Prize at the Deutschen Chorwettbewerb and the International Choir Competition in Varna (Bulgaria). There he was also awarded the special prize for the best conducting performance in the competition.

Tristan Meister receives invitations to festivals at home and abroad and appears at renowned concert series in Germany and beyond, most recently in October 2022 as part of the Abu-Gosh Music Festival in Israel and in February 2023 at the ACDA National Conference in Cincinnati, USA. His CD recordings include the world's first complete recording of all a cappella men's choir works by Max Reger as well as the first recording of the song cycle Hafis by Friedrich Gernsheim. He is the editor of several choral books, a regular juror at competitions and works as a lecturer in choral conducting at the Musikhochschule Mannheim and Musikhochschule Frankfurt am Main (since October 2019). He currently lives in Mannheim, Germany.
