The Swiss tenor, Daniel-Leo Meier, was born and raised in Grenchen. He studied school music at a teachers school in Solothurn with 1st and 2nd school music diplomas. The he studied solo singing with Barbara Löcher, concert diploma with honours with Peter Brechbühler at the College of Music in Lucerne. He went on to three-year study at the Art Academy in Utrecht, Netherlands with Professor Udo Reinemann, and singing training with Margreet Honig in Amsterdam. He received various scholarships and awards (including Dienemann Foundation Lucerne, Girard Foundation in Grenchen, Rotary Club of Solothurn).
Daniel-Leo Meier gives concerts, recitals and opera performances at home and abroad (the Netherlands, France, Germany, Czech Republic). He particpated in the premiere of Caspar Diethelm's Spitteler Kantate (Prometheus), with radio recording by Radio DRS 2. He also teaches solo singing and pedagogy at a school in Canton Zürich. |
