The American tenor, Ryan McEldowney, graduated summa cum laude from the Carroll University. He recently obtained his Master of Music degree in Voice from the University of Wisconsin-Madison
Ryan McEldowney has performed in concerts with with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Wisconsin Chamber Choir, Waukesha Choral Union, Music by the Lake, Carroll College Concert Choir, Carroll College Vocal Collective, and the Festival Aurora Borealis Concert Choir. On the operatic stage, he has made appearances in leading tenor roles with the Milwaukee Opera Theatre, Madison Savoyards, Candid Concert Opera, and the University of Wisconsin Opera.
From August 2005 to May 2008, Ryan McEldowney was Resident Assistant at Carroll University. From September 2008 to May 2010, he taught voice lessons to both music and non-music majors as Teaching Assistant at University of Wisconsin-Madison. From April 2009 to July 2010, assisted the Director of Music and provided musical leadership at weekend and Holy Day liturgies as Tenor Section Leader and Cantor at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish. From September 2010 to June 2011, he taught private piano and voice lessons to children, teens, and adults, and also taught group classes to children several times per year in the Voice/Piano Faculty at Prairie Music Academy.
In July 2010, Ryan McEldowney accepted a position as the Director of Liturgy and Music at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Parish in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this post he directs both adult and youth choirs, in addition to leading the congregation in song and psalm from the piano and organ. He serves as the staff liaison to families, assisting in the planning of funeral and wedding liturgies. Since May 2012, he is also Director of Liturgical Music at St. Francis de Sales Seminary in St. Francis, Wisconsin.
