The Czech soprano, Tereza Mátlavá, studied opera singing at the Academy of Music in Prague with Professor M. Hajossyova, then continued with Professor V. Hudecova in Bratislava. She took port in number of master-classes, including the Bach Academy in Stuttgart with Helmuth Rilling.
At home Tereza Mátlavá performs regularly at the National Theater and she has been invited to sing all around Europe and in Japan. She is a regular guest of music festivals around the world. In 1999 she was awarded the G. Amhold Prize 'Talent of the year' at the Wexford Opera festival in Ireland, where she sings classical music os well as musicals. She performed Cosette in Les Miserables and Ellen in Miss Saigon at the GoJa Music Hall in Prague. She often works with the Czech Radio Orchestra, FOK, the State Philharmony of Brno, the Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmony of B. Martinu, the Zilina Chamber Orchestra in Slovakia and the Czech Philharmonic Collegium. In 2001 she took part in performances of the Bach Passions under the baton of Robert Canetti at the Abu-Gosh Music Festival in Israel.
Tereza Mátlavá has recorded numerous CD's for the label Supraphon Records and often works with the Czech Radio and Television. |
