The Czech soprano, Markéta Mátlová, eceived her Master of Music degree from the prestigious Music Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where she majored in opera singing and graduated under the guidance of associate professor Magdalena Hajóssy. She has also won several international competitions (Emmy Destinn Competition London, Ad honorem Mozart etc.).
Despite her youth, Markéta Mátlová is a much sought-after soprano ranking among Europe’s best artists in her field. With a proven track record of success on both Czech and foreign stages, she is immensely popular especially in Italy, Germany and Russia and also with the demanding Asian audiences in China and Japan. Her vocal range, excellent technique and last but not least, her multi-genre approach to music offer a unique cultural experience that is consistently appreciated by both the professional community and the general public.
Markéta Mátlová is also a member of an extraordinary ensemble called the SMS* Project (Special Music Style) in which she performs alongside violin virtuoso Jaroslav Svěcený and arranger Jiří Škorpík. She works closely with renowned photographer Jadran Šetlík, with whom she has created a unique project called Arias and Portraits in Consonance. Also, she has released several CDs, including her latest album called "Simple Thing". This is a selection of international film melodies in their original arrangements along with her debut as a writer, which gave its name to the entire CD - "Simple Thing". She currently lives in Prague, Czech Republic. |
