The Dutch harpsichordist, Tini Mathot, studied first piano, then harpsichord at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam.
With her husband and former teacher Ton Koopman, Tini Mathot co-operates closely; as duo they perform numerous well-known and rarely-heard works for two harpsichords and two organs. She plays regularly as a soloist or a continuo accompanist and is chief recording producer and supervisor for Ton Koopman, Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra & Choir, in addition, for other outstanding ensembles. In this function she has produced numerous CD's for Erato, Teldec, Sony, Philips and other well-known labels.
Concert engagements have led Tini Mathot all over Europe, to Mexico, Canada and to the USA. Most recently she appeared in Lausanne, Geneva, Vienna, Southampton, Bristol, Amsterdam, Ljubjlana, Trient, Mantua, Padua, Varese, Pistoia, Florence and Paris, among other places. She is a member of the Corelli Ensemble, in which Wilbert Hazelzet and Reine-Marie Verhagen also participate. She received the French Diapason d'Or for her recording of the Haydn Trios (with Andrew Manze, violin, and Jaap ter Linden, Violoncello).
Apart from her aforementioned activities Tini Mathot works at present as teacher for harpsichord the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag. |
