The Austrian conductor, Peter Marschik, was a member of the Wiener Sängerknaben (Vienna Boys’ Choir). He was trained at the Musikhochschule in Vienna, where he studied piano, singing, composition, and conducting. In 1981 he received Diploma in "Song & Oratorio" with distinction.
Peter Marschik was the pianist and founding member of the "Beethoven Trio, Vienna". He became the Choirmaster of Wiener Sängerknaben, and from 1991 to 1996 was their Artistic Director. He is Lecturer at the Wiener Musikhochschule for Voice, accompaniment and score reading. He made Radio, TV and disc recordings as pianist, singer and conductor. Concert tours have brought him through Europe, to North and South America, Japan and Australia and New Zealand. In 1995, he founded Orchestra Academy "Aesthetica in nuce". From 1998 to 2003, he was First Kapellmeister at the Kiel Opera; from 2004 to 2007, First Kapellmeister at the Mecklenburg State Theatre Schwerin; from September 2007 to August 2013 Chief Conductor at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt.
Peter Marschik has collaborated with the Vienna State Opera chorus, Coro dell’ Accademia di Santa Cecilia Rome, Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Mexico, Orquesta Sinfónica de Venezuela, RSO Brativlava, Brandenburg Collegium (New York), Danish Radio Sinfonietta (Copenhagen), Leopoldinum chamber orchestra Breslau, Slovak State Philharmonic, Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, Academy of London, Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, Vienna Volksoper Symphony Orchestra and Vienna State Opera Orchestra (as a guest conductor of the Vienna Hofmusikkapelle).
