The German bass-baritone, Niklas Mallmann, began his musical training as a member of the Tölzer Knabenchor and appeared with them at various opera houses under the baton of Claudio Abbado, Sigiswald Kuijken and James Levine as Child Spirit in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte and Esquire in Parsifal. He later sang in the men's choir of the Tölzer Knabenchor where he regularly took on solo parts, including Lycon in Henry Maunder's The Martyrs or the baritone part in Cherubini's Requiem. Concert tours took him throughout Europe, America and Asia.
After successfully completing his bachelor's studies in machine engineering at Technische Universität München, Niklas Mallmann in 2014 switched to Munich's Hochschule für Musik und Theater where he has since been studying singing under Frieder Lang. In the same year, he sang the role of the Third Captain in Bernd Alois Zimmermann's Die Soldaten under Kirill Petrenko at Bayerische Staatsoper. He currently lives in Munich, Germany and sings in the Extrachor of Gärtnerplatztheater and Extrachor of Bayerische Staatsoper. |
