The Mailänder Kantorei (Coro della Chiesa Cristiana Protestante di Milano) has existed for more than 40 years and, in addition to the normal activities of worship in his church, has to its credit many concerts performing a sacred repertoires.
In the late 1970’s the Mailänder Kantorei recorded under the direction of Maestro Enzo Corti, an LP, “Il Corale Luterano" (The Lutheran Chorale), with works by Johann Pachelbel and Dietrich Buxtehude. From 1985 to 1991 the choir performed under the guidance of Joachim Winkel from Hamburg W.A. Mozart's Requiem, Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248) and St John Passion (BWV 248) by J.S. Bach. Since September 1995, the Artistic Director is Ruben Jais, with whom the ensemble performed major works by Schubert, J.S. Bach, Arcangelo Corelli and Tomaso Albinoni.
The historical site of Mailänder Kantorei is the Chiesa Cristiana Protestante in Milano (Protestant Christian Church in Milan), in Via Marco de Marchi, 9. There, every week fans and singers come together to study with Maestro Ruben Jais. |
