The Swiss bass, Fritz Mack, studied at the Musikakademie of Zürich and was a student of two such great concert singers like Ilona Durigo und Maria Philippi; to the music theory he was introduced by Ernst Hess and Hermann Scherchen.
Since 1942 Fritz Mack performed in concerts in Switzerland (Zürich, Basel, Bern, Biel, Solothurn, Schaffhausen, Winterthur, Lucerne, St. Gallen), France (Festival de Strasbourg) and in Germany for a concert career is important. He sang solo parts in oratorios and sacred works of music by J.S. Bach, George Frideric Handel, J. Haydn, Mozart, L.v. Beethoven, Felix Mendelssohn, Johannes Brahms, Schubert and Verdi, and in contemporary works by Othmar Schoeck, H. Suter (Le Laudi), Willy Burkhard (Das Gesicht Jesajas). H. Sutermeister (Missa da Requiem) and Paul Huber (Requiem; premiere of Der verlorene Sohn, St. Gallen 1954), C. Ehrensperger (world premiere of Liederzyklus, Winterthur 1953) and R. Matthes (world premiere of Psalmen-Kantate, Frauenfeld 1957).
Since 1958, Fritz Mack worked as a singing teacher at the Zürcher Musikakademie.
