Moscow State University Chamber Orchestra (= MSU Chamber Orchestra) [Russsian: Камерный оркестр МГУ] was originally conceived as a chamber orchestra of Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty, and soon became a university-wide. From the outset, the style of the orchestra followed the "good manners", given the legendary conductor of the Moscow Chamber Orchestra Rudolf Barshai.
Repertoire: works of late Baroque composers, since 1990, and especially in the last few years takes more and more place in the programme earlier and lesser-known music of Germany (Heinrich Schütz, Johann Rosenmüller, Johann Krieger, Dietrich Buxtehude, Muffat, Hans Leo Hassler, Staden, Johann Erasmus Kindermann, Johann Hermann Schein, Samuel Scheidt), Italy (Monteverdi, Legrenzi, Alessandro Scarlatti, Merula, Antonio Caldara), England (Purcell, Lawes, Locke, Dowland, Holborn, Hume, Byrd) and France (Sherpante, Bernier Boismortier, François Couperin).
