Musicians of the Dreaming Spires is an instrumental ensemble of 8 musicians from Oxford. Between them, the eight musicians produce a ravishing sound, spurred on by Christopher Redgate's energetic and meticulous direction. Their Concerts at Six take place at 6.00 p.m in one of Oxford's stunning historic churches. They have chosen this unusual time of day because it enables audience members to 'pop in' for a short concert either on their way home from work, before a full evening on the town, attending another concert, the theatre, or out to dinner. Their aim in putting on these concerts is to offer a relaxing and interesting concert for people working, shopping or visiting the centre of Oxford. As these concerts last for about 50 minutes they are also ideal for younger members of the community. The music is performed by professional musicians from the Oxford area. The concerts all have spoken introductions and brief programme notes. bThe audience is invited to chat to the performers after the concert. |
