The Canadian mezzo-soprano, Diane Loeb, holds a B.A. and M.A. (musicology) and a diploma in Opera Performance from the University of Toronto. She also studied at the Royal Conservatory, the Tanglewood Music Centre and the Conservatoire Americain in Fontainebleau, France.
Diane Loeb has appeared in major opera roles in France, Germany, Switzerland and Canada in repertoire ranging from Monteverdi to Harry Somers. In concert, she has appeared with many of Canada’s symphony orchestras and choral societies from St. John’s to Vancouver. She has made extensive appearances nationally in recital with broadcasts frequently on both French and English CBC networks.
Diane Loeb has held faculty positions at the University of British Columbia (1996-2000) and the University of Toronto (from 2001). She has given master-classes at the Royal Conservatory and the Summer Opera Lyric Institute and has been active as an adjudicator at music festivals and competitions across Canada. She teaches at the University of Western Ontario opera and French and German diction. |
