The Chinese pianist, Sining Liu, started playing the piano at the age of 6. She began her piano studies with Ke Lin at the Guangxi Arts Institute in June 2003. The study took a professional turn in September 2009 when she started studying with Huili Li at the Central Conservatory of Music's Piano Academy in Gulangyu. In 2015, she was accepted into Solomon Mikowsky's class at the Manhattan School of Music with whom she was previously in the pre-college program (2015), obtaining her Bachelor of Music degree in 2019.
Sining Liu won 3rd Prize at the X International Vladimir Krainev Competition 2009 where she performed Felix Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Kharkov Youth Orchestra. Last year, she won the Eisenberg Fried Concerto Competition, then performed with the MSM Symphony Orchestra last season. She was also invited to perform at the centennial celebration of George Perle, the famous American composer, at the Bruno Walter Auditorium - Lincoln Center. This year she performed solo in the Neidorff Karpatti Hall, New York, with the MSM Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by George Manahan they performed Franz Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 2 in A Major, S. 125. She currently lives in New York City. |
