Trio Leonardo, the young ensemble with refined sound and great artistic sensibility, was created with the intent to pursue a path of discovery and study of a repertoire often unknown and rarely heard, but of precious quality.
The tonal richness that comes from the combination of three instruments like flute, harp and viola is able to evoke a small orchestra, inspired great composers in the creation of a vast and very intersting literature, from the Sonata by Claude Debussy, in repertoire pieces by contemporary composers such as Arthur Honegger, Jolivet, Milhaud, Piston, Takemitsu, Sofia Gubaidulina and pieces created in collaboration with the Italian trio by composers of later generations. On the other hand, great attention is also paid to the music of the past, though originally designed for other instrumental combinations, such as the famous Goldberg Variations (BWV 988) by J.S. Bach, performed in the arrangement of Andrea Cipriani. In the realization of this project, the idea was not that of simple transcription, but rather to give the Goldberg Variations (BWV 988) one of the many possible realizations in accordance with the intentions of J.S. Bach, abstracting thought musical references and influences timbre. This is also the case of 18th-century Italian music in the repertoire of the Trio, as the Sonata Pastor Fido by Antonio Vivaldi's, the Sonata in B flat F major by Barsanti and the Sonata in F major, Op. 2 No. 1 by Benedetto Marcello.
The members of Trio Leonardo: Andrea Danise (flute), Giancarlo di Vacri (viola) and Elisabetta Ghebbioni (harp) come from very different musical backgrounds and have performed in major Italian concert halls: Torino, Rome, Milan (Sala del Conseratorio “G. Verdi”), Genoa, Florence, Venice, Bologna. They have given concerts in major European countries (France, Germany, Spain, Scandinavia), the USA and Japan. |
